NBA Legends Vince Carter and Grant Hill Highlight the Bharat Shah Leadership Speaker Series at the 2021 Hunter Hotel Investment Conference
ATLANTA, March 22, 2021 – The Hunter Hotel Investment Conference, Georgia State University, and Noble Investment Group are pleased to announce that Vince Carter and Grant Hill, world-renowned NBA and NCAA basketball legends, business leaders, and philanthropists, will join Mit Shah, CEO of Noble Investment Group, for the 2021 Bharat Shah Leadership Speaker Series.
Vince Carter’s professional accomplishments as an eight-time NBA All-Star and an Olympic Gold Medalist are widely described as “Half Man, Half Amazing” and have had a transformational global impact. Still, it is his endeavors off-the-court that best exemplify his leadership and character. Vince comes from a family of schoolteachers, and his Embassy of Hope Foundation assists children and their families through education. In addition to his significant contributions to our nation’s public-school systems, Vince has helped build treatment facilities for families suffering from alcohol and drug addiction. For his philanthropy, he received the Florida Governor’s Points of Light award and was recognized as Child Advocate of the Year by the Children’s Home Society.
Grant Hill is one of the most admired NBA and college players of his generation and a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The seven-time NBA All-Star, two-time NCAA Champion, and Olympic Gold-Medal winner has made the successful transition from 19 years as a professional athlete to leadership in business and television broadcasting. Grant is the Founder and Chairman of Hill Ventures, a commercial real estate investment firm, the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Penta Mezzanine Fund, and a co-owner of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB), Empire State Realty Trust (NYSE: ESRT), the NCAA Board of Governors, the NBA Retired Players Association Board of Directors, and has been Vice-Chairman for the Board of Directors of the Special Olympic World Summer Games.
“As fathers, leaders, and philanthropists, Vince and Grant have achieved remarkable success at every level of their journey. They are authentic and generous human beings who have used their iconic personal brands to transform cultures and lead inclusive, diverse, and winning teams on and off the court,” said Mit Shah.
Vince Carter, Grant Hill, and Mit Shah will take the main stage on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 12:30 pm at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis for a lively and engaging conversation.
The Bharat Shah Leadership Speaker Series was established and endowed at Georgia State’s Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, in honor of Dr. Bharat Shah, a highly respected and well-renowned leader and philanthropist. An immigrant to the United States, Dr. Shah’s vision for this series is to share the intimate and diverse personal journeys of icons whose stories of struggle, perseverance, commitment, and faith have led to the realizing the American Dream.
Over the years, Bharat’s son, Mit, has brought us into the living room for candid conversations with his father, Mark Elliott, President of Hodges, Ward, Elliott, Mark Hoplamazian, CEO of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Tom Baltimore, Chairman and CEO of Park Hotels and Resorts, the late Arne Sorenson, President, and CEO of Marriott International and Chris Nassetta, CEO of Hilton.
“Our goal as a conference is to provide opportunities for our patrons and guests to hear from leaders who are informational, inspirational, and provide valuable insights not found anywhere else. Vince Carter and Grant Hill exemplify all of these traits, and I am grateful they are going to share their incredible journey with us,” said Lee Hunter, Chairman of the Hunter Hotel Investment Conference. “We are honored to continue to host the Shah Leadership Speaker Series and thank Mit, the Noble team for their leadership and dedication to our industry.”
The session is open to industry participants and Georgia State University students holding tickets to the conference.
